What exactly is Wordle?

Wordle is a daily word puzzle where you have six attempts to guess a secret five-letter word. After every guess, coloured tiles tell you how close you are. It sounds simple, and it is, but the feedback system makes each game feel like a mini logic puzzle.

Wordelly brings you unlimited Wordle in nine modes, so you never have to wait for tomorrow's puzzle.

The three colours and what they mean

This is the heart of the game. After you submit a guess, each letter tile turns one of three colours:

  • 🟩 Green: correct letter, correct position. Lock it in.
  • 🟨 Yellow: correct letter, wrong position. Move it somewhere else.
  • ⬛ Grey: this letter is not in the word at all. Avoid it.

Your first game, step by step

Follow this routine and you'll solve your first puzzle with ease:

  • Go to Wordelly and tap 'Play', no account needed.
  • Type a common five-letter word like CRANE or STARE and press Enter.
  • Look at the colours. Cross off any grey letters mentally.
  • Use your yellow and green letters to build your second guess.
  • Keep going. You'll typically crack it by guess 4 or 5.

The most common beginner mistakes

Reusing grey letters is the number-one beginner error. Once a letter turns grey, it's gone. Don't type it again.

Guessing randomly on turn four or five is another trap. If you have three green letters and one yellow, think systematically about where the yellow one fits.
